Purple Sweet Sixteen Crown Cake

A round four tier sweet sixteen cake for a party at Hanover Manor in East Hanover NJ. The tiers of pure white vanilla cake have a thin layer of raspberry jam and chocolate ganache flavored with Framboise liquor.

Purple fondant with silver accents covers the cake, with more fondant drapes, purple bows and piping. Purple jewels decorate the diamond shape silver fondant cutouts around several tiers, and more piped crowns and scrolls encircle the tier with the large monogram.

The cake is topped with a silver fondant crown, encrusted with more edible jewels. I am pleased we made one special birthday girl very happy!

New Yankee Stadium Retirement Cake

The honoree of a retirement party at the Imperia on Easton in Somerset NJ was a New York Yankees fan, so nothing less than a cake replica of the New Yankee Stadium was a fitting celebration of his 17 years service.

The almond pound cake has a chocolate raspberry filling. The cake is carved to scale, it includes advertising with a batting Derek Jeter on the main screen, the Yankees logo at the main entrance gate. The stadium is full with fondant Yankee fans.

This cake was so large that we needed to take it out through a window!

Thomas the Tank Engine Birthday Cake

Here is a Thomas the Tank Engine 3-D cake ordered for a birthday party in Summit NJ. The lemon cake has white chocolate cream filling and with more grated white Callebaut chocolate between each layer. The outside of the cake is modeled out of fondant to match Thomas' color scheme. Thomas is riding along the rails through a green field!

Sculpting Thomas' cheerful face is always a challenge, if only to get the right expression. The cake is carved and then a thin layer of buttercream allows me to attach the fondant, without losing the lines of his nose, eyes and mouth.

Blue and Green Jungle Animal Cake

This seems to be an animal month! We made this two-tier jungle animal theme cake for a first birthday party in Lodi NJ. Layers of yellow cake with chocolate cream filling are covered in a light blue fondant. The cake is decorated in green stripes and leaves, with wild animals (elephant, giraffe and lions) on top.

Elephant Party Birthday Cake with Balloons

We delivered a herd of elephants partying around a birthday cake to South Orange NJ. This three tiered cake has red velvert with white chocolate buttercream, vanilla cake with chocolate raspberry filling and a top tier with banana cake and dulce de leche cream filling. The cake is covered in light blue fondant and decorated with blue stripes, assorted balloons and then each elephant holds a red balloon on a string.

The close up shows the elephants having tons of fun around a table, and the balloons reflected on the ceiling!

The cake is accompanied by vanilla cupcakes with a vanilla buttercream swirl, and on top a light blue fondant disc and chalice. We delivered the cake to a First Communion celebration in Upper Saddle River NJ.

Strawberry Shortcake and Building Blocks Cake

I modeled the character Strawberry Shortcake out of fondant and she sits on top of a set of building blocks. Each of the blocks is made with pure white vanilla cake with a strawberry cream filling and covered in a light pink fondant. Letters and animal shapes adorn the blocks, which we made for a baby shower.

I think this character turned out better than any I have done so far. I paid special attention to capturing the right facial expression, gave her freckles and added some rouge to give her cheeks the right complexion. The strawberries on the hat are hand painted. You can see this detail in the close up.

Indian Wedding Cake with Damask and Paisley Shapes

I designed this irregular four tier cake for an Indian Wedding. The latte color fondant is decorated with paisley designs, hand painted damask shapes and fondant cut outs all in a garnet red color that produce a 3-D effect.

Piped swiss dots adorn the cake, connecting the various elements and surrounding the base of each tier. An elaborate bridge string work hangs from the bottom tier of the cake.

This wedding cake sits on a silver pedestal above a red velvet covered cake stand, that also has a gold brooch.
